Growing up, I loved to draw and learned to paint from an incredible painter, my grandfather. I loved making my own art but also enjoyed watching others' work come to life in the form of movies.
Continuing with art throughout school, it influenced my choice in deciding my major for college. Combining art with a love of movies, I decided to study animation at New York Institute of Technology.
While there, I was able to further my skills with an internship at The Animation Project as an Animation Intern.
During my time studying, I was given the opportunity to work for Amazon Live, a livestream shopping network that was a fairly new addition to the Amazon franchise at the time.
While there was some animation involved, my work was primarily creating static designs, but I started to appreciate the ability to grab someone's attention with one frame and putting the whole story in one place.
I continued to learn and grow as a designer overall, learning the ins and outs of the industry first hand.
Building on my background, I came across product design. Through research and speaking with others in the industry, I started to get a sense of what it all meant and realized it was not only physical design but psychological, research based design.
I wanted to learn more, cue BrainStation. At BrainStation, I met incredible, talented people who pushed me to fully embrace UX and to think outside the box.
Throughout this adventure so far, one of the best things I learned is to always be curious. Curiosity leads to new experiences, new knowledge, and new perspectives.
I would not have experienced what I did if I didn't follow my curiosity. It brought me to animation, then graphic design, and finally product design. I can't wait to see where it takes me next.
